Facilities Manager

Position oversees the maintenance of all of the organizations facilities, leased and owned. Position plans the utilization of space and facilities consistent with the requirements of organizational efficiency and the availability of funds.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gathers requirements from programs and provides direction on resources required to implement the infrastructure of products that are to be bought or built for improvement of the organizations facilities.
  • Directs and coordinates all subcontract work on the building and grounds of the organization. Inspects work to ensure it is completed in compliance with all applicable codes.
  • Review, plans, coordinates and implements all contractual standards related to facilities to ensure the organization is in compliance with all required regulations. Collaborates with officials regarding state and local health, fire and building codes application and inspection.
  • Ability to assist maintenance staff in completion of carpentry repairs, electrical repairs, and plumbing repairs, as well as fixture replacements and installations.
  • May assist in preparation in Grant and Bond Funding applications for capital improvements as needed.
  • Prepares and secures public bids or quotations for subcontracted services, negotiates contracts, oversees and inspects construction and repairs, attends on-site meetings, and oversees project functions, plans, and schedules.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the assigned agency buildings.
  • Responsible for coordinating all required building repairs.
  • Seeks and facilitates the securing of new properties as needed.
  • Assists with the General Liability and Auto Insurance requirements, policies and claims.
  • Coordinates the integration of the organizations telecommunication systems
  • Acts as fleet coordinator of vehicle maintenance and safety.
  • Oversees and implements strategies for a safe and healthy physical work environment, including participating in Natural Disaster planning and event procedures.
  • Participates in the efforts to advance the agency in Development and Fundraising annually.
  • Responds to after hour calls for evening, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and direction to non-supervisory employees to assist in their professional development.
  • Develops and maintains an effective organization through the responsibility of hiring, supervising, assessing, and if needed disciplining of subordinate employees.
  • Position currently supervises 1 non-supervisory employees.


Education and Years of Experience

  • Degree: High School Degree with 10 years of experience Required. Bachelors Degree with 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Number of Years of Experience:       5


  • Prior advanced technical experience of facility management, operations and maintenance safety and security, planning design and construction.
  • Prior general knowledge of all phases of property management and construction.
  • Ability to use specialized equipment/machines including both power and hand tools while maintaining safe work practices
  • Knowledge of technical support systems.
  • Must maintain and provide proof of valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.
  • Must maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Must meet and maintain all required trainings, certifications etc. as needed.
  • Licensed in a trade preferred

  Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are based in office and community settings.
  • Local Travel.
  • Possible use of technical or specialized equipment/machines.
  • Work conditions could include intermittent precarious spaces including basements, attics, or outdoor weather conditions.
  • Possibility of exposure to use of substances, vulgar statements, or hostile/dangerous situations.
