Provides and is responsible for overseeing the general cleanliness of the organization’s programs and grounds in order to maintain a safe physical environment for clients.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness of residential programs by consistent and thorough cleaning of all common areas, which excludes bedrooms.
  • Assist the Programs in meeting all health and safety codes as they pertain to the group home environment. This includes but is not limited to ensuring that all garbage cans have lids, disinfecting all doorknobs, cleaning the carpets and furniture as necessary, and other responsibilities that are included in the residential cleaning list.
  • Complete all necessary preparations for annual inspections and audits conducted by various organizations at each residential program.
  • Assist the Maintenance Worker on special projects as required.
  • At times may be assigned special projects at alternate programs.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Attends relevant training sessions as indicated.
  • Complete basic maintenance tasks upon discovery at work sites and as assigned.
  • Maintain inventory of household cleaning supplies and distribute to programs upon request.
  • Assists in the implementation of safety and basic maintenance repairs in accordance with the facility licensing, health and safety codes and federal, state and town regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.




Education and Years of Experience

  • Degree: High School Diploma Required.
  • Number of Years of Experience: 2


  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to travel independently between locations.
  • Individual must be able to perform each essential duty independently with organizational and time management skills required to ensure ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must maintain and provide proof of valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.


Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are based in office and residential settings.
  • Possibility of exposure of outdoor weather conditions, unsanitary environments.
  • Possibility of exposure to use of substances, vulgar statements, or hostile, dangerous situations.
  • Daily local travel.
  • Ability to use various household cleaning tools.      


Physical Requirements

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Requires work that involves physical activity such as bending, stooping, repetitive hand use, reaching, regular use of hand tools, and regular lifting of weights, at time over 50 pounds. It also requires climbing of stairs and ladders to access items for repair and replacement. The noise level for this job is moderate to loud.      
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Environmental conditions include inclement weather and potentially be in contact with occupational chemicals.
