Contractual Child and Adolescent psychiatrist needed for DCF-funded, therapeutic group home for young men ages 14 – 20. This is a clinically intensive program with psychiatry, nursing and therapist hours onsite. The approach is team-oriented and we work with youth with severe psychiatric (i.e., attachment, mood dysregulation, thought disorders, etc.) and challenging behavioral issues. The treatment approach is gender sensitive and trauma-informed, and we are seeking a psychiatrist who understands the nuances of evaluating, prescribing for and providing treatment expertise to this vulnerable population. Ultimately, the program goal is to support clients in building the skills either to manage independently, return to family or to foster care or to move on successfully to adult placements.

This program, located in Middletown, is an exciting and innovative hybrid mix of community mental health services as well as residential services. Staff are responsible for following through with the daily operations of a 24 hour, seven day a week support program servicing adults recovering from serious and prolonged mental illness and co-occurring disorders.  This program services individuals in recovery, as well as active users living in both residential and community placements.  It provides support with medication, ADL’s, and other case management services.  The program uses a harm reduction model as well as other strategies to best meet the needs of our clientele.    Summary Responsible for performing direct clinical and administrative support for a community service program, including case management, advocacy, education, and outreach services.
